Welcome to Beklyn Wines
Our Story :
Our journey and love for wine began in 1994 working in Vineyards situated in the premium wine regions of McLaren Vale and Currency Creek in South Australia. The artistic method it takes to produce quality wine from vine to glass developed our passion for the industry. In 2002 we built our family home with three young children on our property in Currency Creek on the Southern Fleurieu Peninsula. Here our love for producing wine took flight and we planted our first vineyard. The property was named Beklyn meaning “Pretty Brook” which derives from the passage of water flowing through the Beklyn Estate. After years of anticipation our dream to produce an individually hand-crafted wine from our own vineyard has been realised with the 2018 Beklyn Shiraz. We are so excited with the wine as it expresses the very best attributes of the Currency Creek region. We hope you enjoy the ‘fruits’ of our labour as much as us!
About the wine :
2018 Beklyn Shiraz | Currency Creek
Picked in the morning on the 27th of March 2018, this Shiraz has all the markers that can be attributed to an outstanding wine. Our Shiraz vines Clone 1654 are carefully nurtured to maturity and picked as flavour development in the berry’s peak. In the winery crushing is gentle and fermentation temperature controlled so the fruit yields it vibrant deep red hue while maintaining all of its fruit flavour. An aroma that is a blend of berries and spice with a soft oak influence can be accredited to quality fruit and the measured use of French oak. Lastly a full-bodied palate that fills the mouth with savoury flavours and finishes with fine tannins and a hint of pepper.
